DESIGN
The moment you arrive at Alila Cha-Am, you know you are in for an exquisite experience. The magnificent stairway that greets you climbs up to reveal beautifully landscaped gardens, relaxation and reflection pools, and a labyrinth of private terraces and courtyards, stretching towards the ocean in full view beyond.

The innovative architecture features bold shapes and clean lines softened by the palette of naturally-aged woods, limestone and subtle marble finishes. It's a stimulating and sensual combination that gives a distinctive contemporary edge to this tropical resort.

You can almost imagine you have the place to yourself - a feeling created by the clever interconnection of open spaces with private pathways and features designed for intimacy such as custom-designed couples cabanas. Duangrit Bunnag
Duangrit is a Thai-based architect who has been named as one of Asia's leading architects and interior designers. His portfolio includes a number of acclaimed buildings in Thailand, most notably Bangkok's Thailand Creative and Design Centre.

ROOMS
In Alila Cha-Am's collection of 79 Deluxe Rooms (picture below), Deluxe Terrace Rooms and Private Pool Villas, you can choose how secluded or connected you want to be without even stepping out of your room. The rooms and villas offer both indoor and outdoor privacy that invite you to while away the day, cooled by the gentle sea breezes. Interiors are designed for living at its most luxurious and comfortable, maximising the generous space and providing unblocked views outdoors. Stylish furniture and fabrics beautifully reflect the Thai heritage. And with fully integrated wifi capabilities, large flatscreen TV, Apple TV featuring music and film collection and mood lighting, you can tune in or out to your heart's content.

Deluxe Terrace Rooms feature a private landscaped terrace, while Pool Villa guests will enjoy a sanctuary of unsurpassed space and privacy, with landscaped garden, private pool and large terrace. Chill by Day, Chill by Night: The hotel's central zone is where you'll find the Chill Pool and Red Bar, which are dedicated to wellness and relaxation. Flanked on all sides by relaxation decks, the Chill Pool is an intimate chill-out spot for adult guests. After lounging by day, be pampered by specially created evening spa treatments under the soothing night sky.

Beside the pool is the Red Bar, where wellness is the order of the day with a menu of healthy cocktails and light healthy bites. Or make yourself comfortable on a daybed at the bar, and simply drink in the beauty of the night sky.

LOCATION
Alila Cha-Am lies on the premier beach resort of Petchaburi on the sunrise side of the Gulf of Thailand, 163 km south of Bangkok. The landscape here is characterised by dense jungles and mountain ranges. A leisurely drive from Bangkok takes about 2.5 hours.

Once a fishing village, Cha-Am offers a laidback pace of life, and a more tranquil atmosphere than neighbouring Hua Hin beach. Its main appeal is its clean, white sand beach, which is thought to be the longest in Thailand, and which is where you will find a choice of excellent seafood restaurants.

When it comes to activities, there is much variety, from champagne picnics on the beach to energetic pursuits such as water sports and cycling.Take a tour of the ancient temples and pagodas that dot the surrounding area. Or pay a visit to the summer palace of King Rama VI (Marukhathaiyawan Palace) less than 10 km south of Cha-Am.
